IMG_2785.JPGJanet is a native San Diegan who had a long career in law enforcement before becoming a cooking instructor. She graduated from San Diego State University and was one of the first female officers hired for patrol duties with the San Diego Police Department.

Janet finished culinary school in 1998 and studied in Tuscany, Italy as well as The Culinary Institute of America. She then opened up her own school, 4littleCOOKS Hands on Cooking School, specializing in healthy cooking classes for children. She also taught for many years at the Macy’s School of Cooking where she developed the Iron Chef Competition series.

In addition to teaching, she does food styling for clients. Her food and table settings have appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS and KUSI. Janet’s recipes have been featured in the San Diego Union Tribune and the Los Angeles Times.

Janet is a founding member of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, San Diego Chapter, a non-profit worldwide organization of women leaders of achievement in the culinary, beverage and hospitality professions.

Janet’s first cookbook, CHOP, COOK, MUNCH, was published in 2012. The cookbook is for young chef’s ages 5-13.
